Subject: Yet Another Apology



Jeanne-Marie,

I am sure you have noticed my absence by now, and I am sorry for leaving so abruptly. There have been too many sudden changes in my life over the past couple of months, for good and for bad, and I needed to get away for a few days. As every trip I have been part of planning recently seems to end in extra work for the medical staff, spontaneity seemed the best course. Please, do not worry. I am with Nathan and we have lately become accustomed to keeping each other more or less intact. We are camping upstate; sequestering ourselves in the woods seemed as good an option as any.

I will be back soon, and then we can see about tackling this latest change together. I just need to clear my head first, to shake some of this summer off and remind myself of where I am now and what is important.
