I need to take a break from the mission reports. Still trying to catch up. I'm so glad Kurt managed to find Dr. Marcel for Yvette. He's a good doctor. In a lot of ways. And he didn't even blink at the progression of Yvette's mutation. That really helped her, I think. A connection between past and present is pretty important when you've got a huge chunk of your life missing. And I'm glad something's going right for someone. The kids actually seem to be doing pretty well right now, all things considered. I've been talking to Moira about some training exercises for Laurie. I'm going to talk to Jean, too. There's a physical component there I can't cover. And lately I think I'm suffering from lack of something productive to do.
Forge's absence is one of those things you don't notice until retrospect. The Tower of Babel's going to be a space elevator forever.

Maybe you should go let Jean or Amelia poke at you. Week long headaches are usually a sign of something. Like the need for you to take a break already, freak. I like how your 'not-productive' is everyone else's overworked.
Yeah, I guess that's cool for Yvette. Not really sure how excited I'd be to meet the guy who delivered me but she seems happy which is nice. Someone should be, I guess. These younger kids are so chipper, it's crazy. Between Angel, Kare, Yvette and Mondo, there's always someone in the upper stages of exploding from glee.

I already talked to Moira since she's the one who oversaw treatment last time. If it gets bad I'll talk to somebody else. It's just irritating. I know how to deal with it. Work helps.
But just in the counseling capacity. I've already got myself on less active status for the team. There's tempting fate and then there's putting a big neon sign over your head.
And yeah, the kids are resilient. It's like they've perfected the art of absorbing drama to the point of going right on through to the other side. Dramatic rescue or not I'm not sure I should have given Angel those snickerdoodles. I don't know if they hyper is due to the energy projector metabolism or if that's just the most convenient excuse to vibrate in class. At least it's in a basically non-destructive way. Mostly. Not intentionally, anyway.
Did you ever get in touch with Sofia?

I'm going to just let that pass for now because I have a feeling it's way more loaded than an email can even deal with, but come have dinner with me tonight, would you?
Yeah, didn't I tell you? I dropped off the files a while back. We had lunch actually, which was...interesting. She's really, I'm not even sure what the word is. Reserved, I guess but not really even that.
Not really sure how much she's going to be able to work on it. They've got this whole Preservers thing to work on and all. Not like I'm in a rush or anything.

You weren't talking to us at the time, I think. The description you're looking for for Sofia is "says much but tells nothing." In the emotional sense, not the intellectual one, I mean. You know. Something that is a totally foreign concept for you. They are busy, but I think providing an amusing distraction is probably a good way to build a rapport. Or at least attract her attention for a couple minutes.
Although from the general sense I've gathered from the journals maybe some way of spiting Pete is just as good.
But patience is still a good guideline anyway.

I notice you cleverly didn't say you'd come over for dinner.
Shut up.
I like her, actually. She seems shy.
