Dear All,
Thank you for allowing me to examine my student, and for your hospitality. Hopefully my next visit will be under less stressful circumstances. Some of this I've already told the doctors three, but in the interest of communication, I'll repeat it for all of you.
Amanda's condition is a temporary one, whilst her mind and body recuperate from the strains placed on them by both her own magic casting and what Rack did to her. There was a chance earlier on that his use of her name would drag her with him into death, but it seems Mr Dayspring's inadvertant excursion prevented that, and there is no risk to her now.
The draining spell cast by Rack would appear to have taken all of the mystical power Amanda had, and some of her life energies as well. Not enough for permanent damage, but a significant amount all the same. It would also appear that the other student in your medlab, Mr de la Rocha, was also involved in that spell - Charles tells me there is some kind of link between the two of them, and I believe this may have provided the conduit. I am unsure of what effects this will have on the young man in question, not being a telepath myself, but I am available for consultation should it be required. The same goes for the other young man who was with her - Mr Espinosa has suffered no ill-effects from Rack's magic, but again, should the need arise, you know where to find me.
Amanda should regain consciousness in the next few days, once she has replenished her energies enough. She will be very weak and tire easily for at least a few weeks, but this too will pass. My primary concern will be for her addiction issues; she absorbed a lot of power in Mexico, and this will have set her recovery back significantly. I strongly urge relatively close supervision, should the temptation prove too much. I will be addressing the issue as well as a high priority in our sessions - I suspect her tolerences have increased again, requiring some tweaking of the charm Romany gave her, as well as ensuring she continues to wear it, for her own good.
The binding spell remains. However, without another party acting as the beneficiary of that spell, I don't believe she is at much risk from it. Her training will focus on various protective spells and psychic defences, to provide her with more options should she come across a similar situation again - unfortunately her mutation does make her a target for the more unscrupulous members of the occult community, and as has been regretfully shown, we can't be there to protect her all the time.
I hope this provides you with some comfort. Please feel free to contact me should you have any questions, and I would greatly appreciate being kept informed of her condition.
Sincerely,
Stephen Strange.
