Do you think I could get you to use your brain to realign my ring back to its original shape and structural integrity?
Lorna says not to fly with it from now on. Next time I see her she'll realign the metallic matrix to make it more heat-resistant.

Since we're going to bugger tradition and all that anyway, I'd like for you to come with me for a trip into the city.
Also, any medical data you'd care to share on how _hot_ your skin gets while lasing would be very, very useful. I've already got the melting points of gold, silver, platinum, titanium, steel, and a few other metals tucked away in the ol' cranium. (I know, I know, steel is an alloy, not a metal. Shush!) I've heard you kvetch about ruining nail polish jobs and/or manicures with your power before, and I'd really hate to see you with a literal goldfinger.
That'd be a damned shame. The point is to _wear_ it, not to melt it when things get intense.

In the New Year I have a medical appointment with an audiologist who is creating for me some custom kit. Ali, I figure you'd want to tag along when I go.
Terry, the reason I need you is for testing. I know you can kick out the decibels, and you're Alison's fair-haired girl right now, so I figured you'd be amenable to a little bit of efficiency testing. Alison, I'll need you on-hand to eat any excess noise. How good is Terry's ability to create tones within specific frequency bands?
The checkup was routine, but given what I do for a living that's not teaching Arabic or hand-to-hand combat it's only smart to protect my hearing. And there was some reason for concern on my initial checkup, hence spending a great deal of my out-of-pocket funds to get these custom earplugs. My taste in music certainly hasn't helped anything, nor did my power's tendency to be ... a mite on the noisy end.

With everything that's going on, this may be a bad time to ask but if I don't ask know then I'll forget and be buried by work. (I wanted to wait until I heard about Scott.) In the next few days, after I'm certain everything is calmer, would it be any trouble if I took a vacation from the X-Men? Two weeks at the most but it was brought to my attention when I took notes from my other jobs on the Blackbird after rescuing the children that, perhaps, I need a break.
If not, I'll certainly put it off for a while.
